Gig Information

Your favourite local record label is hosting a St. Asaph Street takeover, as an IRL follow up to the much loved and stunningly well attended 'Better Living, Everyone' lockdown streaming festival – and in true Better Living fashion, it is lightweight and cordless, offers support for your ankles, features embossing with little patterns on it, is easy on sensitive skin, is dimmable and flicker free, is unapologetically chunky and creamy, has an adjustable temperature, feels fluffy and cosy and clings to most surfaces, ALL WHILE offering a host of incredible indie, punk and electronic acts including:

- BIG SCOUT, from Blenheim, fresh from touring with Sleaford Mods and releasing their album 'Council Sport' on LP via MIC!
- WELLNESS, a hot new indie rock act from Tāmaki Makaurau with a dreamy jangling manner and a debut album due out on MIC any minute now!
- KILMOG (Ōtepoti), with their first shows since circa 2014 featuring members of Onanon and a dark sense of humour!
- BEST BETS, Ōtautahi's finest Power Pop band, whose LP 'On An Unhistoric Night' on MIC met critical acclaim and was released worldwide via Meritorio Records!
- HORN, from Te Whanganui-a-Tara, bringing a dirgey brand of grunge pop with their debut cassette out now on MIC!
- BNP, Ōtautahi's venerable good time song and dance band return for their first gig in two years!
- JIM NOTHING from Tāmaki Makaurau with a jangling brand of classic indie rock, as showcased on their debut album 'In the Marigolds' released worldwide on vinyl via MIC/Meritorio!
- HÖG, a classic rock/thrash 6 piece who put the 'boar' in 'big bore' and put the 'pig' in 'A and E'!
- KOOL AID, local live faves and MIC stalwarts, returning for the first time in three years for an unmissable second-soft-reboot featuring new songs and double denim!
- DEEPSTATE (Tāmaki Makaurau) will round out the night at Darkroom with her blend of House, Electronica, Jungle, Garage and Breakbeat!
- and local favourite GETSET will keep the party going at Space Academy with their unique blend of intricate melodies and driving bass lines!

If one venue is at capacity and you are turned away, never fear - head to the other venue where your new favourite band may well be taking to the stage, and check back in a while later to see if space has freed up at the other venue for you to come inside.
