Gig Information

Seismic State are back to do it all again - and this time it’s going to be a scorcher!!

Blinded By The Sun is the band’s second single of 2024, following on from March’s 2 Homes, and will be available for streaming and download on your favourite platform from Friday 3 May. The track can be pre-saved at https://drm-nz.ffm.to/bbts-ss.

To celebrate the release, Seismic State return to The Welsh Dragon to perform the track along with other crowd pleasers from their catalogue of released & unreleased music.

This time they will be joined on stage by fellow rockers ‘Yaya and the Snakes’ and
‘Jeff & The Angry Stick’ - that’s a lineup not to be missed.

It’s set to be a huge night, so make sure you bring your singing voice & dancing shoes.

R18 event, $20 door sales or $15 (plus service fee) at Under The Radar. Doors open at 7pm, with the first band at 7:30pm.

Seismic State are; Sai (guitar), Liam (bass), Matthijs (drums), and Rogina (vocals & guitar).

In June 2021 they supported Auckland rockers, and Aotearoa Music Award winners, Dead Favours on their Riffing and Yelling tour. This was followed by inclusion in the lineup of Bayrock 2022 alongside legends Head Like a Hole, Stellar*, Zed, and Push Push, however the impact of covid restrictions caused the festival to be cancelled.

Seismic State’s debut EP, State of Things, was released in 2019. All four tracks off the EP received airplay in NZ and internationally with Genius, the first single, leading the charge by reaching #47 on The Generator FM’s weekly airplay chart for the week ending 31 May 2020. Genius also held down the #58 spot on The Generator FM’s 2020 Kiwi 101 chart.

Their style mixes rock with elements of blues, funk, progressive and alternative - they combine riff-oriented guitar with melodic basslines and driving drum rhythms forming a foundation for creative vocal melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. The result is an accessible and sonically pleasing bland of music not often found in the rock scene.
