Video: French Concession - To Be Free
A self-directed video has surfaced from Christchurch art-pop musician French Concession to accompany her wonderful tune 'To Be Free'. The hyper-coloured clip makes use of the inflatable 'Arboria' luminarium crafted by the Architects of Air that has been making its way around the country in recent weeks after touring Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
French Concession aka Ella Chau Yin Chi explains further: "After the Euphoros EP was released, I wanted to make a video for one of the songs. I had many ideas floating around but the idea of a cyborg like person waking up into an alien scene was recurring in my mind," she says. "Then one day, I saw the beautiful and colourful images of a blow-up structure in the Christchurch’s Arts Festival catalog, and I thought that it was the perfect setting for this video".
