Weekly Round Up: Friday 16th October

Friday 16th October, 2015 1:40PM

This week bought with it some big news on the festival front. It was revealed that SoulFest, which was set to take place later this month, was forced to cancel its Australian and New Zealand dates due to low ticket sales. The organisers of McLaren Valley Festival announced the inaugural event would be moving from Bay Of Plenty to Auckland due to issues with the resource consent process. And the folk from Raggamuffin announced another batch of acts for the 2016 line-up including UB40, Macy Gray, Xzibit and The Game. In other tour news, LA trio Mini Mansions have lined up two New Zealand dates for November. Renowned guitarist Jackson Browne announced an Auckland show for next April. And news came that The Angels, Dragon and Mi-Sex are teaming up for an epic 'Clash Of The Titans' tour to take place in the new year. And from the rumour mill, it looks like Sleater-Kinney might just be heading this way in 2016. Fingers crossed.

In release news, Christchurch post-rock group No Broadcast have shared new single 'Moment' as they gear up to release their second album at the end of the year. Critics Choice nominees Bespin emerged with their long-awaited second single, which boasts the same astounding wall-of-sound style showgaze they debuted with back in at the beginning of the year. The incredible PJ Harvey previewed a bunch of songs at a show in London earlier in the week and some clever clogs caught them to tape. Japanese post-rock foursome Mono (who will be here in December) unveiled transfixing new single 'Death In Reverse' from an upcoming 7-inch. Bloc Party revealed details for their fifth studio album, titled Hymns, which is due out in January. And in other news, long estranged group Hüsker Dü have launched a merch store online, giving fans a glimmer of hope that the trio may have some new material in the works.

This week's Caught Live is a great clip of Ratatat (who will be in New Zealand for two shows in December) performing "Gettysburg' at The Mayan Theater in Los Angeles...
