Listen: Lawrence Arabia - A Lake

Listen: Lawrence Arabia - A Lake

Friday 15th April, 2016 12:24PM

The clever chap known as Lawrence Arabia has let loose new track 'A Lake', the lead single from his upcoming fourth album Absolute Truth. The songs sees the Auckland artist joined by Riki Gooch on drums along with Jess Hindin and Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper on violins to build up a simple and wistful tune that is swathed in warm layers.

Arabia says of the track: "'A Lake' is one of those songs about absolutely nothing and consequently everything, tied together by a straight down the barrel chorus about a long-term relationship, specifically mine. Where the guitar solo is at the end was once an ill-conceived terminal cancer metaphor which I mercifully had removed before it could kill the whole song. I think the solo's much better."

The record, which is his first full-length offering since 2012's The Sparrow, is set for worldwide release in July via Flying Nun Records. Take a listen to 'A Lake' below...
