Listen: Oscar Dowling - The Life

Earlier this month we were treated to the gorgeous debut solo track 'Sweet Lily White' from New Gum Sarn member Dave Weir, and now another member of the Auckland four-piece has come forth with a solo offering. Guitarist and vocalist Oscar Dowling has surfaced with the heartwrenching single 'The Life' which sees him accompanied by local musicians Mason Fairey, Steven Huf and Will Wood - but what's really striking about this tune is the new depths to Dowling's voice which has a Mark Lanegan kind of vibe. Word has it there is a solo album in the works, but in the meantime soak this beauty up...
