Watch Dead Moon Interview From Their 1992 New Zealand Tour
We could barely be more excited for Fred and Toody Cole's arrival on New Zealand soil next week, but in the meantime we've been lucky enough to get our hands on a clip of the pair being interviewed along with drummer Andrew Loomis (RIP) when Dead Moon came to New Zealand for the first ever time in 1992.
As mentioned in the interview, Dead Moon had already committed to an extensive New Zealand tour when Nirvana asked them to join their arena tour - but rather than back out of the antipodean jaunt the Portland trio turned Nirvana down - and then proceeded to play a 20-show tour that included stops in Invercargill, Greymouth, Nelson, Whanganui, Blenheim and Haast.
The interview was set up at Frisbee Recording Studios, and originally aired on TV3's now defunct late night news programme Nightline. Thanks to John Baker for digging it up!!
