Long Distance Runner Announce North Island Tour (+ New Single)

Friday 10th February, 2017 12:00PM

Post-hardcore super group Long Distance Runner (featuring members of Parents, sere and How Get) are staying true to their namesake and trekking the breadth of the north island in March. The tour will coincide with the release of their debut 7-inch No Value and stops in Palmerston North and Hamilton as well as major centres Auckland and Wellington. To wet our musical whistles in anticipation of the four-date jaunt, the group has revealed the first, eponymous single from the release.

Long Distance Runner 7" Release Tour

Friday 17th March, Whammy, Auckland w/ sere, Love Mess, Markdown + Human Resource
Thursday 23rd March, Snails, Palmerston North w/ Carb on Carb
Friday 24th March, Innermost Gardens, Wellington w/ Carb on Carb + Unsanitary Napkin
Saturday 25th March, Hamtown Smackdown, Zeal, Hamilton

Stream the single and read the despondent, anti-capitalist lyrics below…

A cut rate tool of the cut price.
A captive to the Machine,
grovel for second rate excess.
Bound by abject opulence.
Cut price,cut rate.
Are we a product for this dishonest vehicle of equity,
lost in all the plenty,
bound and packaged,
cattle or capital,
a slave to debt.
We're blind to the waste.
A hostage to excess.
A victim for the Machine,
lost in the bounty of debt.
