Listen: Grayson Gilmour - Hundred Waters

Listen: Grayson Gilmour - Hundred Waters

Friday 3rd March, 2017 10:50AM

Wellington multi-instrumentalist Grayson Gilmour has unveiled his aching new single 'Hundred Waters' which comes with in 360° spatial audio-video for the listener to move within the mix. The cutting-edge clip, which was directed by Parallel Teeth, allows the viewer them to pull themselves around in the video to explore exploding and pulsating graphics while shifting the audio dynamics. Speaking of the video Grayson says:

"I’m a bit of a contradiction in the sense that I'm fascinated by technology that is old, analogy and clumsy, while at the same time being intrigued by all kinds of tech developments going on right now ... I'd seen a small 360° clip that Rob (Parallel Teeth) had animated, thought it'd be a great experiment for a music video -- a chance to engage with people in a new and different way.”

'Hundred Waters' is the first taste of Grayson's new record Otherness, due in coming months via Flying Nun Records. Check it out below (please note: spatial audio not supported for iPhone/Pad. Best viewed with headphones using Chrome browser or YouTube android)...

You can catch Grayson this evening at Christchurch Art Gallery with support from Purple Pilgrims and New Dawn. Head over here for more information.
