The Chills Share Their Cover Of David Bowie's 'Conversation Piece'
On the coattails of announcing their 10-date nationwide tour yesterday, The Chills are sharing their cover of David Bowie's B-side cut 'Conversation Piece'. Originally tracked back circa '69 during the Space Oddity sessions, the song is a firm favourite of Chills frontman Martin Phillips, who recorded a home demo of it 30-odd years ago. After Bowie's death the group played the song as a tribute at their New York and London shows, and it was so well received they decided to capture it in the studio. “I am very glad we did and I would like to think that David Bowie may have been pleased with what we have done with his song,” says Phillipps.
