Auckland's P.H.F. Releases Karaoke-Style Clip For 'Soft'

A new video for P.H.F's single 'Soft' has been unveiled, two years after its initial release. The dreamy synth-driven song has been paired with a karaoke style clip directed by Rachael Anderson who has deftly illustrated a sense of youthful listlessness and isolation that is conveyed in the tune. Speaking to GoldFlakePaint, P.H.F. founder Joe Locke said the video never intended to have a plot line, but something to put on in the background:

"I get people telling me all the time that they could never hear what I was singing about so I decided to also make it a lyric video, so I guess maybe people could relate to it more – I just wanted this video to have a vague feeling of isolation or loneliness or something, cos I guess thats what the song’s about. Real thankful to everyone involved, it was a long process and pretty much sat on the back burner for 2 years but it finally all came together.”

'Soft' was the lead single from the album of the same name, which is available on the Crystal Magic Records Bandcamp page. The record has since been followed up by last year's 9MM album that saw P.H.F. expand from a one person bedroom project to a full band. Watch the clip below...

P.H.F. will be making appearance at Borderline Festival this weekend in Auckland, head over here for more information and tickets.
