Aldous Harding Announces Four-Date Nationwide Tour

Hot on the heels of her three sell-out Auckland shows over the weekend, Aldous Harding has announced four performances around the country to celebrate the release of her brilliant sophomore album Party. The hometurf tour comes on the coattails of a year of almost non-stop touring, which has seen the formidable artist capture ears and hearts from all corners of the globe. Starting in Dunedin and working her way up to Auckland, the tour will see Harding and her band perform in some of the nation's most idyllic venues, with all dates supported by Martin Phillipps of The Chills. ALDOUS HARDING RETURNS TO NEW ZEALAND FOR NATIONWIDE PARTY TOUR

A force beguiling the world with her “spellbinding” songwriting (The Guardian) and consistently spectacular live performances, ALDOUS HARDING is commanding attention from the music industry’s most critical corners. The Observer exulted in a five-star review: “Harding is nothing less than amazing – a nuanced musician, a startling writer and a presence so intense”.

After a year of near non-stop touring to enthralled and amorous crowds the world over - including extensive tours through North America and coveted European festival slots such as Green Man, Latitude, Iceland Airwaves to name a few - Aldous returns to her homeland of Aotearoa for a raft of very special shows in the country’s main centres.

Aldous and her band will be showcasing the album alongside unrecorded new material at some of New Zealand’s most spectacular venues - The Glenroy in Dunedin on November 29, Christchurch's Isaac Theatre on November 30, Wellington's Opera House on December 1 and Auckland's stunning Civic Theatre on December 2.

These are Aldous’ first New Zealand shows since her string of three intimate shows at Auckland’s historic Pah Homestead - all of which sold out within minutes. If those dates are anything to go by, you'd be wise to secure your tickets with haste.

Tickets for all shows go on sale at midday this Friday, July 7.

The release of Aldous’ sophomore album Party, produced with the acclaimed John Parish (PJ Harvey, Perfume Genius) on indie super-label 4AD (Cocteau Twins, Deerhunter, Grimes), has seen her trajectory propel her into international spotlight, selling out shows across Europe and the US winning over fans and critics alike with her magnetic presence, stinging humour and uncompromisingly powerful live performances.

The New York Times hailed Party as “cryptic, utterly arresting… her exposed voice is riveting, changing character from song to song”, while Rolling Stone described her as “Nico in a private karaoke room singing Jewel until closing... her voice is capable of a spectrum of subtle turns, and her knack for metaphor is top notch”.

Aldous is joined for all gigs by Martin Phillipps of The Chills fame.
