Polarising pop weirdo Ariel Pink has lifted the lid off his 11th studio Dedicated To Bobby Jameson. As the title suggests, the record pays homage to infamous Los Angeles musician Bobby Jameson, whose life was riddled with misfortune, alcoholism and criminal activity.

In the mid-eighties Bobby threw in the towel on the music business, and was rumoured to be dead for many years. In 2002, his cult 1965 record Songs of Protest and Anti-Protest was reissued, and in response Jameson resurfaced in 2007 with a series of autobiographical blog posts and YouTube videos, which he maintained until his death in 2015.

In a statement, Pink said of his muse: “His book and life resonated with me to such a degree that I felt a need to dedicate my latest record to him.”
