Mysterious Dunedin outfit Strathcona Pl are back with four-song EP Holds and Releases, a gorgeous and catchy collection of guitar-strumming alt-pop. Their third release this year following single 'Death Means', the EP is the most expansive snapshot yet of the group's quiet and mesmerising sonic vision. Holds and Releases was recorded and produced again by Peter McCall, mixed by Tex Houston and is accompanied by a cryptic statement from Strathcona Pl excepted below...
"holds and releases is the sound of water running constantly through white guttering, the sound of leaves sticking to the surface of a pool. The windows and doors are all open, but pain isn’t absent..."
