Cave Circles Shares New Video 'The Garden'

Wellington producer Cave Circles (Riki Gooch aka DJ OBOE) has shared a new video for 'The Garden' from his latest Apricity EP, and will be celebrating the vinyl release of the record next week. Made by Gooch and friend Ben James, the stylish clip features glitched out footage of the artist strolling through and interacting with some well-known capital city locations. Gooch has been on a roll of late, with his recent Angolan-dance influenced DJ OBOE album winning over a whole new set of ears. UTR caught up with Cave Circles who shared his thoughts on the new EP and video...

"My second EP 'Apricity' was made over the past three years and it is a dedication to my son Kiva. Actually, some of the ideas were made while he was still gestating in his Mumma’s belly. The titles of the tracks represent key things we like to do together. There is no literal interpretation with the music and Kiva, just a capture of time and space. I was lucky to have the vocal talents of Dr Leila Adu, Parks and Seven Davis Jnr. My daughter Maia also appears on some synth parts.

The video was made by my dear friend Ben James. We shot it for three hours on a Saturday afternoon and he edited it by Sunday. A quick turnaround! This is the first video that Ben has made and hopefully not his last."
