King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Mild High Club and La Luz Shows Announced

Australian psychedelic rockers and ‘best live band in the world’ King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are returning for their debut headline tour with shows in Auckland and Wellington. Last seen tearing it up onstage at this year’s Laneway Festival the workaholic group will be performing smaller-scale shows at Whammy Bar and San Fran in December, with the aim of bringing an in-your-face seriously rocking party to the kind of clubs where the group rose to fame. If that’s not enough they’re bringing recent collaborators LA psych-pop group Mild High Club and surf rockers La Luz along for the sure-to-be legendary ride. It has been a massive year internationally for KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD as they carved up and/or sold out almost every date on their global tour in the biggest venues and best festival spots they’ve played to date. To date, their sole appearance in New Zealand has been a massive one at Laneway in Albert Park, so the band have decided to gather up some of their favourite friends from around the world and play some seriously sweaty shows in the kinds of clubs that first made the band’s intense live shows nothing short of legendary!

Joining the band for this epic New Zealand jaunt are L.A’s psych-pop pals Mild High Club, fresh from releasing their trippy collaboration with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard “Sketches of Brunswick East”, and California’s finest surf rock outfit La Luz!

Yes, we know, these venue sizes may seem like wild choices for this mega-lineup, but it’s important to remember that this is a band who like to have a good time, and sometimes to do that, you gotta get up close and personal with like-minded people who are down to party, King Gizzard style. Yowwwwww!
