Gate Shares Experimental Album 'BTYLCS'

Dunedin sonic innovator Gate aka Michael Morley is highly regarded internationally for his work with free noise pioneers The Dead C and for his own solo journeys to the outer limits of contemporary music. His latest release, enigmatically titled BTYLCS and originally recorded in 2002, features a curveball even for those familiar with Gate’s noisy oeuvre, as the 17 minute first track 'BTyLCSS' delves deep into the world of dance music production. Morley hones in and expands on the caverns and recesses of beat-driven pop, creating a blazed, zoned-out sensation for the ears and mind. For the following tracks, Morley explores a more familiar soundscape territory of clicks, tones and drones, with titles hinting at process-driven compositional methods.
