Laurie Anderson + Kronos Quartet Unveil Video 'The Water Rises...'

Monday 22nd January, 2018 1:48PM

Legendary US performance artist Laurie Anderson has shared a collaborative new work 'The Water Rises / Our Street Is A Black River' with San Francisco string quartet Kronos Quartet ahead of their upcoming album Landfall, which is inspired by the devastation wrought by Hurricane Sandy. The quartet's upbeat 2017 single 'Eh Ya Ye' with Southern Mali artists Trio Da Kali recently attracted fresh ears, their work with Anderson sees the group working in a cinematic orchestral mode while Anderson speaks poetic utterances along with the sounds. The accompanying video features scrolling text against a moody backdrop and is equally hypnotic and oblique, you can view it below...

'Landfall' is out Friday 16th February via Nonesuch Records.
