Live Photos: Connan Mockasin - Hollywood Cinema, Auckland

Psychedelic guitar pop artist Connan Mockasin is currently in the midst of a long-awaited headline tour of New Zealand, and brought his magical tunes to the plush interiors of Auckland's Hollywood Cinema last night. A curated experience of an evening, the show promised "wine by Connan... food by Connan... film by Connan..." There were even socks available with the artist's instantly identifiable mug emblazoned upon them. Unfortunately Kody Nielson was unable to perform as advertised (he's currently touring with Unknown Mortal Orchestra), this wasn't a problem as Mockasin band-member Infinite Bisous stepped in to deliver an entertaining TED talk-styled set revolving around the topic of "infinity." Connan Mockasin lived up to his multimedia word, presenting a film trailer for his project Bostyn & Dobsyn, which ties into themes he'll be exploring in forthcoming album Jassbusters.
