Roy Irwin Drops DIY Video 'Infinity Mirror'

Roy Irwin Drops DIY Video 'Infinity Mirror'

Friday 9th March, 2018 1:05PM

Auckland garage pop artist Roy Irwin has unveiled a blissed-out DIY video for his tune 'Infinity Mirror', one of the highlights from his self-actualising 2017 album King Of Pop. The casual clip features the artist waving around a copy of Big Black's classic album Songs About Fucking in front of a tiger mirror (with P.H.F. prime mover Joe Locke giggling on the kitchen floor), weird advertising images, Irwin busting out mean skate tricks in a carpark, and on-vibe imagery of colour-saturated driving footage. It's the right kind of visuals for these kind of sounds, we caught up with the artist (and UTR contributor) about his new release...

"I made this video today to have a break from preparing for my album release. The clips at the beginning are Joe (Locke) and I tripping in my kitchen a year or so ago. The rest is really just a bunch of garbage. It's just kinda fun."

Roy Irwin will be celebrating the release of his album 'King Of Pop' with a show at Auckland's Audio Foundation on Thursday 29th March and an instore appearance at Flying Out Records on Saturday 7th April.
