Kamasi Washington Announces Album 'Heaven & Earth' + Shares Two Tracks
US jazz maestro Kamasi Washington swept into Aotearoa recently for a spellbinding run of packed shows at Auckland's Powerstation and Splore Festival 2018. Hot on the heels of those mind-expanding performances the prolific artist has announced his latest album will be a two and a half hour, quadruple vinyl (or double CD) set titled Heaven & Earth, and shared two short beautifully filmed clips directed by British artist Jenn Nkiru teasing the collection's release. Each video represents a different side of Washington's forthcoming opus and are part of Nkiru's wider Heaven & Earth film project due out later this year. Read our recent interview with Washington here and check out snippets of Earth’s 'Fists of Fury' (a cover of the classic kung-fu film theme) and Heaven’s 'The Space Travelers Lullaby' below...
'Heaven & Earth' is out Friday 22nd June via Young Turks and Rhythmethod.
