Goodwin & Kyle is the new collaborative project of New Zealand electronic producers Hamish Kyle (aka Mr Amish) and Lawrence Goodwin, the latter of whom announced last week he's wrapped up his much-loved solo project Career Girls. They've debuted as a duo with their sizzling hot single 'Downtown Club', accompanied by a booty-shaking DIY video directed by David Becham starring singer and dancer St. Vaseline, who struts his stuff in some of Wellington's finest inner city locations. Goodwin & Kyle are primed to set Aotearoa's dance music scene on fire, 'Downtown Club' is the lead tune from a collection titled Keep On Truckin' due to drop later this month. The artists shared a few words about the enigmatic talent involved in their clip...

"St. Vaseline, who is featured on vocals in the track and as the star of the video is an incredibly famous disco performer from Eastern Europe. He was visiting Wellington in order to serve as an adviser to Weta Workshops who are currently working on a CGI version of Saturday Night Fever, when he linked up with the kiwi artists to create the work of high energy disco-pop that you hear in the video.

The video was directed by David Becham (pronounced betch-uhm), a mysterious and enigmatic video producer of whom the only information known is that he used to be a highly paid footballer, who threw in his sporting career for the life of an artist after he was fired from the squad when the coach found a bale of dak in his bootbag."
