Live Photos: Zeal & Ardor – Valhalla, Wellington

Swiss-American multi-instrumentalist Manuel Gagneux's avant metal group Zeal & Ardor almost couldn't perform at Valhalla last, discovering after they had touched down in Wellington that their crucial music gear was still in Australia. Quick thinking and resourcefulness prevailed, and the Cher tee-wearing frontman's genre-smashing band were able to perform their unique blend of blues, gospel, soul and metal in a stripped back fashion, to by all accounts fantastic results, with support from our own Devils Blues-slingers His Masters Voice.
