Sarah Mary Chadwick Unveils Single 'The Queen Who Stole The Sky' + Video

Wednesday 6th March, 2019 12:56PM

Melbourne-based expat songwriter Sarah Mary Chadwick (Batrider) has lifted the lid on the title track from her forthcoming long player The Queen Who Stole The Sky. The collection comes less then a year after Chadwick's emotionally intense 2018 opus Sugar Still Melts In The Rain, and was performed and recorded live with Melbourne Town Hall’s 147 year old grand organ. The new record is the result of a commission by the City of Melbourne in 2018, "to create an entirely new body of work, to be written and recorded in just three months on an instrument grand in size, sound and antiquity." The first song unveiled from the album showcases Chadwick’s distinctive vocal crackle and emotive lyricism, complimented by the palpable sonic grandiosity of her organ playing. Experience a gorgeous video for ‘The Queen Who Stole The Sky’ directed by Agostino Soldati, shot on location and featuring Chadwick playing the gigantic instrument below...

'The Queen Who Stole The Sky’ is out via Rice Is Nice Records + Heavy Machinery Records (AUS) on Friday 12th April + via Sinderlyn Records (US / EU) Friday 19th April.
