Venus X of GHE20G0TH1K New Zealand Show Announced

Monday 18th March, 2019 10:21AM

NYC club icon Venus X will be tearing up local dance floors this March, playing a special headline event with support from local party starters half.queen, Brown Boy Magik at Tāmaki Makaurau's Whammy Bar. Renowned for her boundary-pushing DJ sets as well as her work as a curator, label boss and style icon with her own Planet X store, Venus X is responsible for co-founding (with Hood By Air's Shayne Oliver) the massively impactful GHE20G0TH1K club night series (pronounced ‘ghetto gothic’), which has hosted a diverse range of megastars including Bbymutha, Juliana Huxtable, Ian Isiah, Tommy Wright III, Show Me the Body and Virgil Abloh. Venus X described GHE20G0TH1K as a space where the audience can “explore your identity, explore your ideas or explore your body”, scope out the info on her Auckland event and snap up your tickets while you can...

Press release:

Community Garden are beyond blessed to welcome Venus X to Whammy Bar for one New Zealand show on March 28.

Founder of the massively crucial GHE20G0TH1K clubnights in New York, Venus X recognises and takes hold of the further-reaching cultural power of club life, leading her to working with the likes of MOMA PS1, starting the Planet X boutique, DJing for M.I.A, as well as presenting Bbymutha, Juliana Huxtable, Ian Isiah, Tommy Wright III, Show Me the Body, Virgil Abloh and many more at GHE20G0TH1K. A true (oc)cult icon.

Playing alongside Venus X will be Tāmaki Makaurau’s very own half.queen and Brown Boy Magik of FILTH and Fully Explicit.

Tickets available now from Undertheradar.co.nz.
