Listen To Beatcomber's 'Creature Comforts' EP

Thursday 2nd May, 2019 1:24PM

Although the band is separated by land masses in all directions, Aotearoa surf-poppers Beatcomber have dropped their Creature Comforts EP and it feels connected, rich and exciting. We’d already heard singles ‘Double Visions’ and ‘Melancauli’ in recent months, and they were a clear indication that Creature Comforts was going to be a collection of tracks with a relentless drive and strong groove. The title track ‘Creature Comforts’ is a highlight - Sophie Scott-Maunder’s keys and vocals are charming and heartbreaking, with an incredibly rewarding chorus and an outro that almost goes full surf doo-wop. The rest of the dream team behind the release is Trent Williams, Jonathan Shirley, Sam Young and Thomas King, who currently reside all across the globe. Steven John Marr and Williams co-recorded the release, and Oliver Devlin took on mixing and mastering. Pop on the kettle, sink into your favourite armchair, and indulge in all your comforts with the latest from Beatcomber…
