Rizván Drops New Collection 'G3MINI III : Night & Day'

Tuesday 11th June, 2019 11:58AM

Auckland via Tonga hip hop artist Rizván (Rizván Tu'itahi) has unveiled G3MINI III : Night & Day, his first collection since 2017, and the third in a series kicked off with his mid-2012 debut GEMINI EP. Each of those releases came out on the rapper's birthday and G3MINI III : Night & Day sticks to tradition – happy birthday Rizván! A tonne of guests appear on the bumping ten-track opus including Arch Hill's Diggy Dupé on two tunes and BeNZa on the funked-up 'GET UP' (he also contributes a freestyle track). When Rizván isn't setting fire to the mic with his rock solid lyrical flow, you can hear the multi-talented North Shore artist busting out hilarious gags as the voice of Monty Hook on Coco Solid's animated show Aroha Bridge, which has a new series waiting in the wings ready to drop soon. Rizván opened up about his latest collection via social media yesterday, stating...

"life is always up and down , good and bad . and in society it's hard to be yourself especially when you get judged by others so this project is the beginning of me trying to be myself as an artist . thank you to my amazing wife and son for their patience . thank you to my friends who helped out on this project esp since everything was so last minute . this ep isn't perfect but neither am i . there's so many things i want to fix , sonically , lyrically and structurally but honestly , i think it's better raw and true , then forged and fake . guess it can be a balance of both . only available on bandcamp for now but will be on all streaming platforms later in the week . feel free to add koha so i can keep sharing music , otherwise get it for free :-) no stress . night & day . ofa atu <3"
