Watch George Turner's Video For 'Saint'

C.C. / Tuesday 20th August, 2019 1:44PM

Pōneke singer and multi-instrumentalist George Turner has lifted the lid a new video for 'Saint', drawn from their sonically diverse debut album Insect, released in late June. Created by Turner and Kahurangi Mill, the clip depicts the artist performing their spare, introspective ballad against a gorgeously filmed backdrop of purple-tinted local landscapes and leafy scenery, including sweeping aerial highway footage. Recorded over two years, Insect was initially inspired by Turner's field recordings of various environments including mountains, cities and beaches, which you can hear in the intro to 'Saint'. Turner opened up about the origins of the song in an accompanying statement...

"I wrote and recorded it at 4am early 2019 and never changed a thing. It is a very important song for me as I was coming to terms with my mental health. I hope it helps you through whatever part of the journey you're on."

'Insect' is out now on all digital streaming platforms.
