Dead Little Penny Announce Debut Album + Share Single 'Dead Together'

A.K. / Wednesday 9th October, 2019 1:22PM

Tāmaki Makaurau three-piece Dead Little Penny have revealed the imminent release of their debut album Urge Surfing, and shared the first shoegazey gem from the collection. Front person and vocalist Hayley Smith’s dream-pop-punk tones pierce through the fuzz on the new track ‘Dead Together’, with band mates Simon Buxton and Sean Martin-Buss brewing up some gnarly textures under tongue-in-cheek lyrics about “the shitty things we do for love, friendship, and a sense of belonging”. The DIY visuals crackle along with the song, flashing found footage, documentary and film clips at the viewer through black and white and a thick layer of noise. Next month the band are taking their new songs for a spin at their Urge Surfing release show in Auckland, featuring support from Créme Jéan and The Feastie Boys at Wine Cellar. Peruse the rest of the info laid out below, and have a hoon of their latest single after that…
