Andrew Fagan And The People Album Release Show Announced

Aotearoa new wave pop pioneer and poet Andrew Fagan is playing a special headline event at Tāmaki Makaurau's Anthology Lounge in mid-February, celebrating the release of his brand new album as Andrew Fagan and The People Act Normal. The former frontman of The Mockers recently strutted his stuff in support of UK wordsmith John Cooper Clarke, rattling off a selection of his poems to crowd-pleasing effect. An energetic and unapologetically unconventional performer, fans can look forward to an anything goes musical extravaganza – as Fagan correctly states, “Good songs and showing off are not mutually exclusive concepts.” Take in Fagan's catchy single ‘On Channel Me’ from the forthcoming record, poking fun at the collective narcissism seemingly intrinsic to our electronic age, and scope out the record release show details here...

Returning with gleeful lyrical antagonism and emotional insight, and never one to favour an understated approach, one of the pioneers of Kiwi New Wave Andrew Fagan presents his new album Act Normal as Andrew Fagan and The People, out February 14th, 2020 on Southbound.

Today Fagan announces a rare Auckland release show at Anthology Lounge on Friday 21st February, with support from local upstarts Snapper and Chips.

An eccentric showman who has never conformed to the usual New Zealand style of performance; not much has changed for this seasoned veteran of the stage. “Good songs and showing off are not mutually exclusive concepts,” says Fagan.

In October 2019, Fagan shared a sardonic take on the social media era, releasing four versions of ‘On Channel Me’ through Facebook and YouTube, letting fans choose the version to appear on the finished version of the album. This was followed by ‘Act Normal’ the title track single in November 2019.
