Live Photos: The Pixies - Spark Arena, Auckland

Boston legends Pixies took over Tāmaki Makaurau's Spark Arena Friday night, no doubt fulfilling some punters' rock concert dreams. Original Pixies crew Black Francis (aka Frank Black), Joey Santiago and David Lovering were joined by recent addition Paz Lenchantin, filling the big shoes Kim Deal left behind, and rolled out their quintessential late '80s pop-rock records Come On Pilgrim and Surfer Rosa in full. Local champs The Beths warmed up the Auckland crowd with tracks from their outstanding latest LP Future Me Hates Me, treating the mosh to a few unreleased tunes too.
