Two Daze 2020, Pt. 2 has arrived, proving once again that a 48 hour time limit to write a song is a piece of cake for Aotearoa's musicians. The Two Daze project launched in 2018 when Isaac McFarlane (Two Cartoons, Hahko) wanted to see more exciting music being made during NZ Music Month, and it's gone down a treat. Two Daze 2020, Pt. 1 hosted top quality tracks from Sulfate, Leaping Tiger, Alexa Casino and more, and the new rollout is another collection of diamonds created under pressure. Electronic beat maker Suren Unka sets the tone on opening track 'Waxing Gibbous', laying down wave after wave of sci-fi synth and larger than life bass, which flows into 'Rainbows' by Max Pepsi and the serious grooves of ONONO's 'Holographic Friend'. The compilation is rounded off with an infectious, funky cut from Dictaphone Blues, a slice of Koizilla psych-rock, and Louis Jarlov's acoustic folk ballad 'South Taranaki Working Man's Club'. Although Two Daze 2020, Pt. 2 highlights some top talents, this compilation is a total dud when it comes to diversity, with the large majority of artists men and / or Pākehā this time around. Shift your sights to part one of this series for a wider ranging representation of what Aotearoa's music community has to offer...

'Two Daze 2020, Pt. 2' is out now via all major streaming services.'
