Seattle's Sneaky Bones, the project of folk songwriter Matthew Bean, was here in Aotearoa last summer treating local punters to a marathon top to tail nationwide tour. While Covid-19 has thrown everyone's plans for 2020 in the bin, Sneaky Bones hasn't allowed the pandemic to stop him in his tracks with new album Little Words, initially released amidst the hustle and bustle of NZ Music Month in May. Recorded over six days in the intimate surrounds of a house in Sonama, California, using a lo-tech device known only as "the machine" to imbue the tunes with a crunchy rustic aura, all profits from the artist's fourth studio record this week will be donated to the Minnesota Freedom Fund. Bean has hinted a return to NZ is on the cards once border restrictions are lifted once more, that should give you enough time to learn all the words to sing along with Sneaky Bones' latest opus...
