Bad Hagrid Wellington Show Announced Ft. SOG, Sofia Machray, Serious Happiness

Bad Hagrid invite Pōneke gig-goers to a magical evening of new music to "whip the beard" to next weekend. Having emerged from lockdown with lush facial hair, debut album Bad Hagrid & The Planets Of The Androgynites, and some newly form musical friendships, the surf-pop outfit has plenty to show off. The additions of guitar-pop act and student radio favourite SOG, powerhouse vocalist Sofia Machray, and bringers of indie joy Serious Happiness make for a quadruple stacked lineup. If that long list of solid reasons to attend didn't cut it, they're also donating all ticket profits to The Stone Soup Community Initiative. So, Bad Hagrid finally made it out of lockdown, surprise surprise. Bad Hagrid somehow came out of it with some new friends, an album, and an even longer beard. How? He doesn't even know.

This show here is the first show since the debut album Bad Hagrid and The Planets of The Androgynites - Released during lockdown (well-done aunty Cindy).

I've missed you all yer wee friends. I hope you all are misbehavin after this lockdown thing. Hope yerr all safe as a spider in 'er burrow. Come down and whip the beard.

SOG is a disgustingly fun act that tears up the indie-grunge sound and throws it back at you in their own style. Sofia Machray is an electric master of the Singer-Songwriter gone rogue. She bangs some Indie-Pop out into the atmosphere and people come running to hear. Her debut single Handstands gives you summer on a rainy day and makes Bad Hagrid want to dance with the daisies. Currently number 1 on @RadioOne down in Dunedin and climbing the SRN top 10, Sofia Machray is unmatched in her sonic field.

Serious Happiness brings you the sweet, sweet, sweet noise that resonates with the heart, but then, occasionally will break it. But, they will definitely make fall in love again, as they have caused Bad Hagrid to feel this way. Their newest EP 'Serious Happiness EP' is the matured wine of the Wellington Indie-Pop scene. The sound encompasses all the simple flavours and smooshes them together into a delicious soundscape. Breaking out of the scene with a bang, we give you, the most serious happiness you can achieve.
