Listen To Drop Zone's Self-Titled Debut Album

Listen To Drop Zone's Self-Titled Debut Album

Chris Cudby / Monday 27th July, 2020 1:41PM

Indira Neville (The Biscuits) and Garry West (Dean) together unearth a wealth of fuzzy electro lo-fi gems on the debut album from Tāmaki Makaurau duo Drop Zone. With a minimalist, spoken word style and cold wavey looping robo-rhythms recalling Suicide, Snapper, The Normal or even Tall Dwarfs, Drop Zone's self-titled first collection covers impressive ground over nine tracks "made in Garry's garage" – at times venturing into poppy territory recalling a more melodic and stripped-back King Loser, and at others happily squawking down their own sonic path. You'll be wanting to wrap your ears around the stream below and cop your own limited edition cassette of the release to treasure forever, out now right here via Independent Woman Records. Check out DIY clips for 'We live in the layers' and 'Lake Monster' below and catch Drop Zone's very first live show, supporting Surfin' USSR this Wednesday 29th July at The Wine Cellar...
