As French For Rabbits' nationwide tour nears completion and the summer sun finally begins to emerge from wherever it's been hiding, Brooke Singer and the Pōneke-based gang have unfurled their magical and much-teased new single 'The Dark Arts'. A song not so much about cloak-wearing wizardly activities as it is about the act of hoarding (a topic close to my own heart), Singer considers the sentimental value of a lifetime's worth of accumulated objects against a sumptuous chamber-pop backing, on the first release from FFR's forthcoming third studio album, pencilled in to launch early to mid 2021. You'll have to pry the towering piles of records, comic books and ancient music mags in my tiny apartment from my cold, lich-like claws — treat your ears to 'The Dark Arts' and catch the group performing in Hawkes Bay this Saturday, and at City Gallery Wellington with Grawlixes on 12th December...
