Finalist for the APRA Best Country Music Song 2021 award for recent single 'Between Hello and Goodbye', Papakura songwriter Kendall Elise's second studio album Let The Night In has arrived. Laid down at Tāmaki Makaurau's Roundhead Studios, the record features the aforementioned number alongside nine more gloriously heart-on-sleeve tunes, with Ellise's voice sounding flat-out stunning throughout. The new songs roam the range from soul stirring, cry in your whiskey country-gothic balladry to full blown barnstormers, including '60s pop-inflected latest single ‘You Gotta Be A Little Mad’ and even a rip-roaring cover of Suzi Quatro’s sassy '70s hit ‘Your Mamma Won’t Like Me’.

Elise is set to tour with band The Belgraves in the latter half of 2021, supported for all shows by Beth Torrance plus regional special guests, with early September's shows necessarily postponed due to stink old Covid — all UTR ticket holders will be emailed direct with updated details. Happily this Saturday's free Flying Out appearance will now be a livestream extravaganza, broadcasting over on the store's Facebook page here from 2pm sharp.
