Listen To Autocell's 'Illegal Remixes' EP

Chris Cudby / Tuesday 2nd November, 2021 10:05AM

The electronic nom de plume of Tāmaki Makaurau's P.H.F (also of NO-CLIP), Autocell has been knuckling down undercover during Alert Level 3 to create Illegal Remixes, a new three track collection of unofficial reworks / edits so red hot they might cause your laptop to catch on fire. A relentless pileup of razor-tipped breakbeats and angelic pitched-up vox, the closest thing resembling a 'chill tune' on Illegal Remixes is Autocell's deeply zoned take on Evanescence's 2003 classic 'Bring Me To Life', while the fast 'n' furious versions of Far East Movement's 'Like A G6' and The Used's 2009 emo anthem 'The Bird And The Worm' are automatic party starters — if there were any parties to go to in Aotearoa right now [ba dum tss!]. Guaranteed to blast the cobwebs out of your locked down brain and drive your neighbours insane, apparently more remixes will be added to the collection as Autocell sees fit. In the meantime, you have no choice but to down five coffees then crank up the three new tracks on Illegal Remixes...
