Returning to Taranaki's Bowl of Brooklands and Brooklands Park in March 2022, WOMAD NZ 2022's musical lineup just got even more stacked with a fresh wave of local artists joining the bill. Nine more acts have been announced for the multi-day festival: electronic artist Dream Chambers, Tāmaki Makaurau-based Brazilian musician Ge Luz, Pacific contemporary dancer and storyteller Le Moana, Kenyan / NZ soul-pop songwriter Muroki, Nigerian / NZ hip hop icon Mazbou Q, flamenco guitarist and composer Paul Bosauder's Tierra y Mar Flamenco Project, Aotearoa reggae queen Rubi Du, vocalist / performer / composer TUi MAMAKi (formerly of Mamaku Project), and soul singer Whirimako Black. Outside of the musical realm there'll be even more to experience at WOMAD NZ, including the return of the WOMAD Poetry Slam on the World of Words stage, hosted by poet Penny Ashton.
