Pumice + Noemienours Share 'Bung Eye / Winter Cabbage' Split Collection

Chris Cudby / Wednesday 16th February, 2022 12:01PM

Tāmaki Makaurau's sonically boundless Pumice have teamed up on a split release with Stockholm experimentalist noemienours, beguilingly titled Bung Eye / Winter Cabbage. Featuring core members Stefan Neville and Jade Farley (N.T. Honey) with Ben Holmes on trombone, Pumice's new tunes are a blissful, meditative and really good kaleidoscope of clattering catchy instrumentation, with hints of The Avengers' '60s NZ classic 'Love Hate Revenge' shining through on first track 'Poor Paw Pō'. For their two track flipside, noemienours moves into more stretched out and freeform psych-folk zones, sounding a bit like how I feel after three beers and a long walk in the sun. Bung Eye / Winter Cabbage is releasing on lathe cut 12" split clear record on 31st March, with all digital proceeds being donated to Pandas international — listen up here...
