US goth / folk / doom icon Chelsea Wolfe at long last played the first of two 2022 Aotearoa dates w/ fellow Sargent House labelmate Emma Ruth Rundle last night, a momentous event nearly five years in the making (with unavoidable delays dating back to before the global pandemic). Joined by full band on stage engulfed in smoke at Te Whanganui-a-Tara's San Fran, photography ace Bruce Mackay headed along to document Wolfe's headline performance for the ages.
