The WOMAD New Zealand team have revealed a first glimpse at some of the stellar artistic talent appearing at next year's festival, celebrating their 20th anniversary at Ngāmotu New Plymouth's Bowl of Brooklands and Brooklands Park in March 2023. The beans have been spilled about an initial trio of musical headliners, including multi-award-winning South Korean traditional folk / pop fusion ensemble ADG7 (full name: Ak Dan Gwang Chil), Taite Music Prize winner Tom Scott's hip hop / jazz project Avantdale Bowling Club, and French polyphonic vocal / percussion six-pice collective San Salvador (who sing in the romance language of Occitan). Venturing beyond the sphere of musical performance, iconic Kiwi pop artist Dick Frizzell and OMV STEAM Lab meteorologist Lisa Murray have been announced as World Of Words speakers for 2023.

These names are simply the tip of the iceberg, as we await the full official lineup being launched on 20th October. Happening across eight stages and showcasing "an eclectic and cross-cultural line-up" from around the globe, the forthcoming World of Music, Arts and Dance festival welcomes international artists back to Aotearoa for the first time since 2020. Early bird tickets are already all gone, we recommend securing your spot while you can...
