Listen To 'MEL Compilation Volume 3'

Chris Cudby / Artwork: Sophie Sutherland (featuring MEL gadget 006 Phillip K. Duck) / Friday 18th November, 2022 12:33PM

One of Aotearoa's finest free music community resources, MEL (Musical Electronics Library) "provides sound makers in Tāmaki Makaurau with access to invented and donated electronic instruments", founded by Pat Kraus in 2014 and based within the Audio Foundation's central city sub-basement headquarters. Compiled by Sean Martin-Buss and Eamon Edmundson-Wells, MEL Compilation Volume 3 celebrates eight years of this innovative and accessible artist-friendly initiative, showcasing aurally adventurous tracks created using MEL gear (plus one made using equipment from Melbourne's MESS) by Kraus, Neil Feather, Fern, Nāda Labyrinth and many more. Learn more about MEL HERE and head along to this weekend's special eighth birthday events happening tonight and tomorrow — "all proceeds from the compilation go towards sustaining and expanding the lending library" so support an awesome cause, get out your wallet and send some cash their way...
