Following her own songwriting muse through fuzzed-out shoegazey passages ('Until I Return'), lushly arranged dream-pop ('Too Young') and moments of folk-inflected luminousness ('Moving Away'), Macaulay's vocal powers absolutely shine on all nine tracks, summoning Weyes Blood-levels of majesty on sweeping ballad 'He Died In May'. “The album and the journey of making it has been about the evolution of self. It's about transforming energy in the moment into something tangible, such as song, poem, music, art.

It represents a collective experience, with the pandemic being at the forefront of my mind, but deeper than that, a snapshot of time and space. This relates directly to the themes in the songs but also applies to the making of the album.
