Ocean Alley Headlining Auckland's Spark Arena in September

Ocean Alley Headlining Auckland's Spark Arena in September

Chris Cudby / Thursday 27th April, 2023 8:00AM

Making the history books as "the first international band to play New Zealand once our borders had fully reopened" (in May 2022), Ocean Alley's star has only shone brighter since they launched their chart-topping fourth studio album Low Altitude late last year. The New South Wales surf-psych collective have announced their triumphant return to Aotearoa, following a sold out run of shows across the globe with a one-off headline event at Tāmaki Makaurau's Spark Arena this September. Special guests are yet to be announced, but we recommend taking action immediately to catch the massively popular six-piece (they were special guests for Six60's landmark Western Springs Stadium and Forsyth Barr Stadium events) when general public tickets go live next Wednesday. Press release:

Australian rock heroes Ocean Alley make their anticipated return to Aotearoa to play a one-off headline show at Auckland’s Spark Arena this September.

Touring in support of their fourth studio album Low Altitude Living which was released last October and debuted at #5 on The New Zealand Top 40 Album Chart, this will be Ocean Alley’s first show in Auckland since May 2022 when they were the first international band to play New Zealand once our borders had fully reopened.

Playing on Saturday 23 September, tickets will go on sale Monday 1 May at noon from ticketmaster.co.nz.

Over the past five years, Ocean Alley have cemented themselves as one of the most successful global touring acts out of Australia. After crushing it in 2022 with a string of worldwide headlining tours – where they sold more than 75,000 tickets across Australia and New Zealand, the UK, Europe and North America – as well as major festival appearances like Lost Paradise and Falls Festival over the New Year period, 2023 sees the band hit the road again. Prior to their New Zealand date, Ocean Alley feature on all stops of Australia’s Groovin The Moo along with Darwin’s BASSINTHEGRASS, plus the band will embark on a 12 date tour across Europe and the UK throughout June and July, as well as a 20 date tour of North America and Canada in August and September.

Known for their unique blend of sun-soaked psychedelic rock music, Ocean Alley have made their mark on today’s music scene as one of the most exciting live acts. Their dynamic performances featuring their signature laid back grooves have become fan favourites both in New Zealand and across the globe. Their last two headline tours of Aotearoa have sold in excess of 10,000 tickets and they have played New Zealand’s most iconic festivals including Rhythm & Vines, Rhythm & Alps, Soundsplash and Live In The Park.

Ocean Alley are excited to come and play their second home of Aotearoa this Spring for what will be a very special headline show. Tickets go on sale Monday 1 May at noon.
