The Green Dragon Rises Fundraiser Events ft. Reb Fountain, MC Tim Batt + More

The Jubilant Underground and Whammy Bar present three evenings of D&D-inspired adventure theatre, taking over Tāmaki’s Whammy in the form of live adventure epic The Green Dragon Rises. Written by Dungeon Master Erin O'Flaherty (Don't Forget Your Towel podcast), and unfurled over the course of three evenings, the on-stage saga fuses together elements from from the likes of fantasy, theatre of the mind and improvisation, with each night bringing its own arc to the overall storyline: ‘In the not too distant town of Sleethaven, our heroes must find who is behind a recent spate of kidnappings. But all is not as it appears... Can our heroes uncover the true mystery that lies at the heart of this strange town?’

Featuring a star-studded line up, including Reb Fountain, Henry Rolleston (Shortland Street), Mainard Larkin (Randa), guest stars for each chapter, and MC duties by Tim Batt, the theatre / adventure story will spring to life alongside an improvised soundtrack performed by Sean Martin-Buss — with proceeds made from the events donated to the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand. So, you’re an adventurer too, are you? Well gather close, and I’ll tell you a story of adventure. A story the likes of which you've never heard before...

Combining improvising, role playing, dramatic storytelling, humour, fantasy and theatre of the mind, this will be an event quite unlike any you’ve experienced before! There will be laughs, tears and gasps as you witness the adventure unfold before you. You may even be pulled into the story yourself!

This story unfolds over three evenings (26 July, 2 August, 9 August). While we encourage you to come along to all three, each evening will have its own satisfying story arc (so no fear if you can only make one or two!).

Featuring a star studded cast including Henry Rolleston (Shortland Street), Mainard Larkin (Randa), Reb Fountain, and guest stars for each chapter. An original campaign written by our brilliant Dungeon Master, Erin O'Flaherty (Don't Forget Your Towel podcast). MCd by acclaimed comedian Tim Batt, with a live improvised soundtrack performed by musician extraordinaire Sean Martin-Buss.
