Originally set to return to Aotearoa in early 2020, before the global pandemic hit reset on overseas tours, Frank Turner today thrills local fans with the announcement of Auckland and Wellington headline dates with his band The Sleeping Souls. In the five years since his last visit, the hugely popular UK folk-punk artist released his chart-topping ninth studio album FTHC in early 2022, as well as No Man’s Land in 2019 — a thirteen track opus dedicated to telling the stories of women from throughout history. Turner will be joined for both NZ events by Western Australian songwriter Emily Barker, who launched her new collaboration with Carducci String Quartet A Dark Murmuration Of Strings just last month. Bringing his The Never Ending Tour Of Everywhere down under for an extensive Australasian tour this November, if past Turner visits have been any indication we recommend pouncing on tickets immediately. Here's the official details for Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, brought to you by Destroy All Lines...

Press release:

It'll be a never ending run of magic this November when iconic UK folk-punk troubadour FRANK TURNER and his band THE SLEEPING SOULS return to New Zealand and Australia for The Never Ending Tour Of Everywhere, alongside special guest EMILY BARKER. This marks FRANK TURNER's biggest Australian headline tour.

As one of the UK's most successful artists, FRANK TURNER has played almost 2.7K shows across the globe since his first solo gig back in 2004. Now with nine studio albums to his name and having sold over a million albums worldwide, FRANK TURNER's ongoing legacy has seen him perform at practically every UK venue imaginable, from tiny club shows to stadiums, including London's O2 Arena and Wembley Arena, and even at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

With his recent albums peaking at #2 and #3 in the charts, FRANK TURNER's latest full length, 2022's FTHC, scored a #1 on the UK Official Album Chart, with his ninth album praised by Kerrang! for its self-awareness, honesty and heartfelt inspiration. Stemming from pandemic acoustic livestream sessions, FTHC also accompanied FRANK's work raising over £200K for struggling grassroot music venues via his livestreams, resulting in him winning the Music Venue Trust’s award for Outstanding Achievement for Grassroots Music Venues.

An award-winning singer-songwriter hailing from Western Australia, EMILY BARKER has been releasing and performing music globally as both a solo artist and with various bands and collaborations over the years, including as the writer and performer of the theme song for the BBC crime drama Wallander starring Kenneth Branagh, and as a film composer. With her latest album A Dark Murmuration of Words, which hit #1 on the UK's Official Americana Album Chart, EMILY's latest work has been significantly praised for its dark yet optimistic lyricism, including a 5/5 star review from The Australian upon its debut.

Don't sleep on what is guaranteed to be never ending musical beauty from start to finish, secure your spot and get set for some truly unforgettable evenings this November.
