Vor-stellen Announce 'Parallelograms' Auckland Album Release Show

Launching their debut album Parallelograms on 8th September via the legendary Flying Nun imprint, Vor-stellen are the Aotearoa sound exploring collective of Brendan Moran, Stephen Reay (both of avoid!avoid) and Jared Johanson (The Subliminals). They've followed 12 minute kosmische lead single 'Grønland' with the announcement of an all-star record release event at Tāmaki Makaurau's The Wine Cellar on 15th September, joined for the occasion by post-punk champs Guardian Singles and electronic disrupter Ducklingmonster. Featuring Flying Nun alumni (from The Subliminals, avoid!avoid, among others), new provisional assemblage Vor-stellen release their debut album, Parallelograms, (courtesy of Flying Nun) and it's a double LP!

Vor-stellen (Steve Reay, Brendan Moran and Jared Johanson) is an experimental group that blends fixated guitars and drums with looped ad-hoc electronic layers producing perforated waves of uncanny, vanishing sound which echoes off the fourth wall. Vor-stellen set forth on an exploration, folding the weird and the eerie into a dark ecology of long-sound via indefatigable environments of modulation and improvisation, creating sonic counterpoints that hinge on a reanimation of musical gestures.

The night will feature special guest appearances by Ducklingmonster and Guardian Singles.
