Don McGlashan Nationwide Tour - New Shows Announced
Soon embarking on his absolutely mammoth Take It To The Bridge tour, taking Don McGlashan all around Aotearoa from late August to early October, the two time APRA Silver Scroll award winner, Arts Laureate and helmsman / key member of The Mutton Birds, Blam! Blam! Blam! and The Front Lawn has declared 20 shows is simply not enough. He's announced new headline dates treating both Raglan and Whangarei residents to songs from his chart-topping new album Bright November Morning and highlights from across his songbook — joined by Anita Clark on violin, keys and backing vocals, who will also open as Motte. McGlashan's multi-media work with Harry Sinclair as The Front Lawn is back in the spotlight, as the subject of Matthew Bannister's new 33 1/3 Oceania book on their 1989 debut album Songs from The Front Lawn. Launching new red vinyl LP and cassette editions of his currently sold out latest album on 25th August (limited copies available at shows), don't miss one of our most celebrated musical storytellers playing 22 headline events across the motu this spring...
“Evidently a lot of the “Take It To The Bridge” tour is sold out, which is really exciting, so we’re adding a couple more: a second show in Whangarei, and a new one in Raglan.
We kick off in a couple of weeks, and I’m so looking forward to seeing all my favourite parts of the country again. Also, astonishingly, our merchandise department and touring arm are meshing perfectly, like the cogs and springs of a vast cuckoo clock, so we’ll have available a fine new “Bridges & Culverts of Aotearoa” teatowel, designed by the wonderful Anns Taylor; plus a special re-issue of “Bright November Morning” in what I’m told is “translucent red vinyl”. I’ve never released anything in “translucent red vinyl” before. It could be a career outlier, or it could be the start of something. Either way, you have to have one." — Don McGlashan
