Guess which Melburnians who won the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Award at the 2023 ARIA Awards are crossing the ditch just for us in September? Teenage Dads have whispered into our ears they will soon be unleashing their indie rock charm in Pōneke, Tāmaki Makaurau and Ōtautahi, as part of their Majordomo Tour of Australasia, officially their biggest tour to date. They’ve just shook stages at Laneway all across Australia with their diary-entry tunes of fizzing guitar and earnest lyrics that moves any and all, and now they’ll be showing us how “the power of music reigns supreme” — like with their wriggly earworm ‘Speedracer’ (which has hit the million-mark on Spotify) and their 2023 Midnight Driving EP. Their two-album, three-EP repertoire will be skiing across the extraterrestrial terrain of Pōneke’s Moon along with local headline shows at the following dates…
